No pains, no gains. Hard work never goes unrewarded, for it always leads to gains. Pain is gain in disguise.

(This is a translation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu’s philosophical sayings about worldly matters originally written in Chinese.)

Below is not an official translation, just for reference

All happiness is obtained through diligent and arduous labor, not by falling from the sky. To achieve success in one's career, one must strive diligently and persevere. Diligent efforts naturally entail fatigue and hardships, and even setbacks and pain. However, as long as you do not back down and continue moving forward, overcoming all difficulties in pursuit of your goals, the ultimate outcome and achievements will bring happiness. Therefore, there is an ancient saying that goes, "Suffering leads to happiness." After enduring hardships, happiness will naturally follow. This is a clear understanding that there are no erroneous causes and effects. One must go through their own arduous labor to eventually attain happiness. There is absolutely no shortcut available, hence the term "clear understanding."
