The wicked always fein benignity to cover up their evil deeds. The virtuous always speak truth with no fear of evil powers. They are ready to acknowledge their errors because they have confidence in their moral strength.

(This is a translation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu’s philosophical sayings about worldly matters originally written in Chinese.)

Below is not an official translation, just for reference

Those whose souls are vile often use flowery language or resort to all sorts of devious and improper means to decorate and disguise themselves, with the purpose of covering up their own shortcomings. A virtuous and morally upright person, however, speaks the truth directly, acts with courage and responsibility, and fears no evil force. They benefit others through noble ethics and morality, and when they make mistakes, they are willing to publicly acknowledge and immediately correct them, without any fear of others pointing out their faults.
