Success in life depends not only on wisdom and ability but also on time and opportunity. Given no time and opportunity, wisdom and ability cannot come into play. Only when all the
elements meet will success be the result. This is the true way of achieving success.
(This is a translation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu’s philosophical sayings about worldly matters originally written in Chinese.)
Below is not an official translation, just for reference.
In doing business, some people have achieved success, some have failed, and each person's achievements differ, big and small. The main reason is that you must have a certain amount of wisdom to succeed in a business. Under this premise, there must be timing and opportunity. Both talent and opportunity are necessary. So, any career achievement must be a collection of wisdom and timing.
Without the time and proper opportunity, there may not be conditions for exerting talent and wisdom if there are only talent and wisdom. Then neither can we deeply study the essence of this matter, nor can we grasp it at the most suitable time. So, we will not succeed. In this way, the career will be successful only when you have the timing and the wisdom at the same time. This is undeniable for all achievements.
