Richness comes from diligence. A rich person is one who is diligent and who chooses a fit career with proper goals.
(This is a translation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu’s philosophical sayings about worldly matters originally written in Chinese.)
Below is not an official translation, just for reference.
The following statement elucidates the three determining factors that lead to prosperity and success. First and foremost, it is said that anyone who wishes to become wealthy or esteemed, more plainly put, to achieve financial success and wealth, must start with diligence. They need to be industrious, and possess a legitimate drive to act. Hence, all prosperous individuals must possess the element of diligence.
Secondly, it is essential to combine this diligence with talent. If one is diligent but lacks talent, they cannot strive for a successful career. Having talent and knowledge allows them to proceed to the third factor, which is to establish a righteous profession. Choosing the right path, not a malicious one, leads to a promising and bright career, not a gloomy, narrow, or failing one. By fulfilling these three points, one can ultimately reap a bountiful harvest and bear excellent fruits.
